Called
"The Most Beautiful Island in the World," Bora Bora
graciously lives up to its title. Located an hour or so by plane
from Tahiti, most visitors first see Bora Bora from the air.
The sight is indeed something to behold a myriad of crystal-clear
shades of blue water lagoon surrounding the lush towering peaks
of Mt. Otemanu and Mt. Pahia rising from the center of a ring
of reef islets known as motus. Upon arrival at Bora Bora's airport,
located on Motu Mare, you are taken by boat to your hotel, which
is a 15- to 30-minute ride, depending on your hotel's location.
The main town of Vaitape is located 30 minutes from the airport,
where you can shop and visit some of the local restaurants.
The beautiful hotels that dot the landscape enhance the beauty
and mystery of this majestic paradise. Many appear in the distance
like small villages, with their bungalows nestled along the
beaches and into the lagoon. Add to this the world-famous Tahitian
hospitality and you begin to understand what keeps visitors
coming back.

Whatever the reason, Bora Bora travelers will forever cherish
the memory of this breathtaking island.

. This is a true Tahitian experience that is not to be missed.
Fishing
The best sportsfishing in Bora Bora can be enjoyed just outside
the island's reef. Here, fishers can hook blue marlin, mahimahi,
sailfish, wahoo and yellowfish.
Sailboat
Set sail for neighboring islands, or simply circle Bora Bora.
Whatever you choose, sailing in Bora Bora is an enchanting

Bora Bora can arrange day trips on request, and are similarly
amenable to extended charters. Hop aboard a catamaran or motorized
canoe and enjoy shark feeding, snorkeling, reef walking or
beachcombing.
Snorkeling
Many of Bora Bora's hotels and pensions offer snorkeling as
part of their excursion programs. Located the south tip of
Motu Roa, Coral Garden is considered to be one of the best
snorkeling sites on the island. The waters around Hotel Bora
Bora veritably abound with fish, but visitors are advised
to ask permission before snorkeling.
