Originally
built by film-maker Dino de Laurentis for the film Hurricane,
the Sofitel Marara is located on Point Matira and commands
an expansive stretch of beach. The hotel has a choice
of overwater, garden and beachfront bungalows. Known
for its extremely welcoming Polynesian atmosphere, this
resort is an excellent choice if you are looking for
something less than the "ultra luxury"
of many of Bora Bora's resorts. Activities include tennis, snorkeling
and a range of optional excursions. Honeymooners are greeted
with a fruit platter upon arrival.
